Overview:
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Nuclear Probabilistic Analysis Engineer II performs complex Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) and highly advanced engineering analyses in support of operations, systems, programs, audit inspections, and assessments. Responsibilities require specialized expertise and broad experience in probabilistic risk assessment methods, consequence and hazard analysis, defense in depth evaluations, and the application of established Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) standards and regulatory guidance. The position applies advanced engineering methods, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements to support safety, design, and operational decision making across a wide range of highly complex engineering and PSA activities. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.
Pay range:
$50.89 - $60.54

Perform various complex Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) tasks requiring specialized skills and broad experience in probabilistic risk assessment methods, consequence and hazard analysis, defense in depth, and the use of available Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) standards and regulatory guidance, as well as other related PSA activities. Provide independent engineering service and support to perform highly complex engineering tasks requiring specialized skills and broad experience in the application of engineering fundamentals in support of design modification, operation, and independent assessment of the organization's facilities. Perform highly complex engineering analyses and designs in support of operations, systems, programs, audit inspections, and assessments, requiring application of engineering methods and analysis, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Work with minimal supervision. Serve as an advisor providing advice and counsel on assignments involving specialized or unique engineering requirements. Solutions may involve unconventional or innovative problem-solving techniques. Provide technical direction, leadership, mentoring, and training to other engineers on highly complex or extended projects, including leadership of small groups to resolve complex issues. Support Owners Engineer activities, including oversight of construction; participation in design reviews for new and advanced reactor technologies; support of progressive design/build contracts and construction efforts; and assistance with site licensing and construction permit activities. Interpret and review Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations and Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) documents; assure compliance with regulatory and industry guidance; and provide interpretation of guidance for application. Identify the need for, and initiate development of, new policies, programs, plans, and procedures to meet strategic objectives. Identify potential problems in design, quality, or operation and initiate corrective actions in accordance with the plant Condition Report (CR) process. Provide schedule inputs and review project timelines as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and 3 years of discipline specific engineering experience; OR High school diploma or GED and PE license obtained by an accredited examination and 5 years of discipline specific engineering experience. Knowledge of advanced nuclear reactor/plant design (i.e., High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor Design) Experience with large construction projects Knowledge in industry consensus standards for Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA), including
ASME/ANS RA-S-1.4
Skill in PRA model development, plant operating state definition, initiating event analysis, event sequence analysis, and performance of quantitative uncertainty analyses and sensitivity analyses Knowledge of transient and accident analyses and radioactive source term analyses Ability to correctly interpret and apply results of PSA codes Familiarity with Seismic and Fire PRA Familiarity with
NEI 18-04
