MEMS SENIOR DEVICE ENGINEER
We are looking for a Senior Device Engineer with a minimum of 5+ years combined experience in MEMS design, development, and technical leadership. This engineer will serve as a senior technical contributor and subject matter expert, supporting development and advancement of MEMS device technology across the organization. The Senior Device Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on technical leadership in the development of current and next generation MEMS devices for leading edge optical modulators. Responsibilities include solving complex technical problems, driving device architecture decisions, and executing on technology and product roadmaps. The work includes designing, fabricating, and troubleshooting MEMS devices and MEMS integrated with CMOS electronics. The successful Senior Device Engineer will develop into leading development of MEMS and CMOS integration to our next generation. We are looking for a person with strong technical depth, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. Primary Responsibilities Lead and execute development of next-generation optical MEMS including architecture definition, MEMS design, integration with CMOS, process design, fabrication and testing Solve complex technical problems, including investigation, definition, and development of improvements to enhance performance, manufacturability or product portfolio Develop and use models to describe existing device behavior and generate predictions Troubleshoot device prototypes and identify solution paths Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning MEMS, process, electronics, optics, and test Engage with manufacturing partners and lead external collaborators Define product and technology roadmaps Primary Qualifications MS or PhD in Material Science / Physics / EE, or related field with MEMS specialization 5+ years of experience in MEMS device design, fabrication, testing or integration Experience in multi-physics simulation (mechanical, electrical, and optical) Strong understanding of materials properties (mechanical, electrical, and optical) Experience assessing system applications or building demonstrations with novel MEMS Working knowledge of electronics Ability to lead technical work teams and deliver complex MEMS devices Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams including foundry partners Additional Desired Qualifications Experience with optical systems or electro-optic test & measurement Working knowledge of semiconductor processing Understanding of analog, digital, or mixed-signal IC design Experience with electronics (e.g. IC, PCB or FPGA) Proficiency with programming tools (Python, C++, LabView, MatLab, or similar) Experience in engineering program management Experience in product development
