9/80 Schedule (Every Other Friday Off) Job Summary L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician with an active TS/SCI clearance to support fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and inspection activities in a secure engineering and manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in lab or manufacturing environments, interpreting engineering drawings, operating machining equipment, and supporting precision assembly operations involving photonic and optical systems. Key Responsibilities Execute fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and inspection activities. Perform optical fiber splicing and recoating operations. Support fabrication, assembly, and inspection of photonic circuits. Perform mechanical builds and precision assembly operations. Conduct metal soldering, microscopy, and profilometry activities. Operate machining equipment and standard shop tooling including: Lathes Mills CNC equipment Integrate COTS optical equipment including: Power meters Monitoring equipment Optical laser sources Follow detailed architecture block diagrams and wiring diagrams. Assist with equipment calibration using vendor or custom calibration procedures. Perform preventative maintenance activities according to documentation and standards.
Maintain and operate:
Wire bonding equipment Photomasking equipment Epoxy application systems for optical device fabrication Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and operational reliability. Support precision building and assembly operations in secure environments. Required Qualifications Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required. Polygraph examination required due to program clearance requirements. 6+ years of relevant experience OR 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor s degree. Required Skills & Experience Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation. Hands-on experience in lab, manufacturing, or engineering environments. Experience operating machining equipment and shop tools. Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes. Experience with optical or photonic systems preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures. Experience with precision assembly and integration activities. Preferred Skills Optical fiber splicing and recoating Photonic circuit fabrication Mechanical assembly Metal soldering Microscopy and profilometry Equipment calibration and maintenance CNC machining Optical device fabrication Additional Information This role requires working in secure and controlled environments. Candidates must be eligible to complete and maintain required clearance standards. Strong organizational skills and commitment to quality are essential.
