Oceanit is seeking a talented and motivated Electro-Optical Engineer to support new business pursuits and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers in the design and development of advanced optical and infrared systems. In this role, you will contribute to the full lifecycle of cutting-edge technologies—from concept development and proposal support to system design, prototyping, testing, and deployment. You will work closely with experts across optics, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to create innovative solutions for complex technical challenges. Designs electronic circuitry and optical components with specific characteristics to fit within specified mechanical limits and to perform according to customer specifications. Designs suitable mounts for optics and power supply systems. Incorporates methods for maintenance and repair of components and designs, and develops test instrumentation and test procedures. Works with a team of multi-disciplined engineers to develop and test those concepts. Brings market and competitor knowledge to help craft technical and programmatic win strategies. Provides technical expertise and knowledge to pursuit strategy for support of existing business opportunities and new business pursuits, relative to the above tasks.THE EXPERTISE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
BS in Physics, Optics, or a related engineering field (e.g. electrical or mechanical); MS or PhD preferred. Must be able to obtain a security clearance. Existing secret, top secret, and/or SCI clearance a plus. Competent, broad technical knowledge of optical sensor systems, their design, manufacture, and test. Experience with focal plane arrays. Experience in business development, customer relationships, concept development, and proposal writing is a plus. Excellent written and presenting skills, with the ability to clearly and competently convey technical system designs and trades to customers. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of radiometric calculations and detector physics. Experience with cryogenic systems, vacuum equipment, and semiconductor packaging (wire bonding).
