Akkodis is seeking a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer II (Medical Devices) for a full-time position with our client located in Marlborough, MA. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, optics, and cutting-edge healthcare technology.
Salary Range:
$93,000/year to $123,000/year. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer II job responsibilities include: Lead the development of complex, light-based medical devices from concept through validation and manufacturing transfer Drive innovation and contribute to the organization's IP portfolio Collaborate cross-functionally with R D, marketing, and external partners Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485, CE) Oversee design documentation, validation processes, and product lifecycle improvements
Desired Qualifications:
MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field preferred) 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering within optical, laser, or medical device industries Strong expertise in opto-mechanical systems, optical packaging, and thermal management Proven leadership in guiding complex development projects and cross-functional teams Advanced proficiency in
