This full-time Senior Optical-Mechanical Engineering Manager opportunity offers the chance to lead the Mechanical Engineering function within the Medical Division while driving the development of next-generation medical devices and optical systems. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline 15+ years of experience designing and developing complex systems and devices 10+ years of experience within the medical device industry 5+ years of engineering management or people leadership experience Strong background in optical-mechanical system design and packaging Experience leading the development of optical devices and subsystems Working knowledge of optical materials, coatings, and geometric optics Experience with optical system integration and troubleshooting Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks Experience integrating Zemax optical designs into mechanical hardware Strong understanding of thermal management solutions Expertise in tolerance analysis, GD&T, and engineering documentation Deep understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes for optical assemblies Desired Skills & Experience Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field Experience developing mid-power laser systems Knowledge of disposable surgical fiber products Expertise in thermal management of laser-based systems Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies Experience with laser-sintered metal components Experience supporting FDA-regulated medical device development Experience introducing advanced manufacturing technologies into product development What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown 35% Optical-Mechanical Design & Product Development 25% Engineering Leadership & Team Management 20% Project Planning & Resource Management 20% Medical Device Development & Manufacturing Support Daily Responsibilities 50% Hands On 30% Management Duties 20% Team Collaboration
