Optical Fiber Scientist

Description Optical Scientist position to design and test the transmission behavior and performance of fiber-based technology, including novel optical fiber and fiber-based devices.

Primary responsibilities will include:

. Interface with advanced designs. and research & development of fiber and fiber-based devices. Conduct innovative research in optical fiber technology, particularly in the area of data transmission for both data transport and optical sensing. Conceive, design, assemble and test the transmission behavior and performance of fiber-based technology. Contribute to external publications and the generation of intellectual property. Interact with customers. Perform other related duties as required by management. Requirements MS or PhD in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience with waveguide photonics, transmission theory, systems architecture, and related disciplines. Demonstrated laboratory experience working with optical components and optical fibers. Coursework and/or research experience in photonics and optics, preferably optical fibers. Must have publications, ideally in the area of optical transmission behavior and/or performance Lab automation and computer skills. Ability to understand and perform optical simulations. #ERGx
