Summary of Role:
As a Si photonics device characterization engineer, you will be working on the development and qualification of active and passive Si photonic devices for high-speed optical interconnect and sensing applications in 45nm & beyond. The specific job focus will be identifying potential improvements in performance and manufacturability through data mining of in-line, electrical and optical signals. New test structures will also be developed to better predict yield, final device figures of merit and reduce test time.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading in-line optical and electrical characterization of complex development of passive and active silicon photonics device components Design and coordinate testing of new silicon photonic monitoring structures Plan, coordinate, and document qualification of new photonic devices Identify issues and technical challenges, formulate appropriate experiments to understand root cause and improve processes to meet requirements Interface with customers and Photonics design engineers to debug and root cause technology vs. process challenges
