UNDERGROUND WET UTILITY ESTIMATOR

- Thriving underground wet utility construction company in east San Diego county is seeking an experienced estimator to join our team. We specialize in sewer & water line installation and replacement. Applicant must have previous experience in the water and sewer industry with references. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-10+ years of experience as an underground estimator, strong communication skills and outstanding organizational attributes. You must possess the ability to adhere to strict deadlines in an organized manner, adapt to changes and gather/apply relevant information required. This position has two main pillars 1.Estimator 2.Project Engineer Estimator responsibilities will be: Seek out potential projects to bid. Evaluate project plans & specs to ensure a knowledge of everything required to produce a complete & competitive bid. Perform project take-offs. Build the bid worksheets and estimate in Excel. Gather subcontractor & supplier quotes. Create a competitive bid including company labor, equipment and materials. Submit a complete bid package on time that meets all agency/owner requirements. Follow up with a post bid comparison for company review. Manage multiple projects when required.

Project Engineer Responsibilities include:

Review and gain a knowledge of appropriate agency/municipality specifications. Gather cost and production data from projects and field crew for future estimates. Work with owner, project manager and field foreman. Establishes a positive rapport with office staff and field team. Follow up on all submitted estimates. Create and update a project CPM schedule in either MSP or Primavera P6. Plan and forecast a bidding schedule.
