  • PCB & Control Systems A customer-centric, solution-based manufacturer of quality products and provider of value-added manufacturing services is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Electronic Design Engineer to lead the advancement of electronic product designs, systems, and components.
This organization designs and produces accessibility and electromechanical products while supporting a diverse range of manufacturing services. In this role, you will play a central part in developing electronic control systems-from concept and design through to final production-supporting both new product development initiatives and enhancements to long-standing, field-proven products. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and manufacturing engineers, to deliver cohesive electromechanical solutions. This role operates within a highly collaborative environment and supports internally developed products across multiple divisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic circuit design, schematic and PCB layout, and proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.   • strong opportunity for engineers looking to reduce long commutes while staying technically hands-on What You'll Do Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for safe, reliable control of manufactured products, with a focus on control modules used in electromechanical systems Create, test, and validate prototypes, including component selection and design-for-manufacturability decisions, with consideration for long-term component availability Develop and execute test methods and equipment to verify performance, safety, and compliance, including custom test fixtures for board-level and system-level validation Lead or contribute to PCB design activities including schematic capture, layout, and troubleshooting of printed circuit boards used in embedded control systems Support new product development efforts and ongoing maintenance and improvement of legacy systems Troubleshoot and resolve circuit performance issues, including high current applications and transient voltage conditions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of electronic systems with mechanical assemblies, wiring, and harnessing Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement across product lines and engineering processes Evaluate and select components with an emphasis on availability, reliability, and long-term sustainability to minimize obsolescence risk Support documentation updates, revisions, and engineering change processes in coordination with CAD and manufacturing teams Interface with manufacturing and production teams to support product launches, testing, and ongoing product support What You'll Bring Hands-on experience with embedded electronics, communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C), and electronic test equipment Experience working with control systems for electromechanical applications; motor control experience is a strong plus 5+ years of professional experience designing electronic hardware (degree in EE or equivalent experience) Strong proficiency in schematic/PCB design and mechanical integration (ALTIUM, SolidWorks or equivalent); flexibility on tools if core PCB design experience is strong Experience designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining printed circuit boards in real-world applications, including legacy systems Familiarity with wiring, cable routing, and harness design as part of broader electrical system integration Exposure to firmware or embedded software environments (not required, but helpful for system-level understanding) Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative engineering environment Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in diagnosing and resolving issues in electromechanical systems Experience working with long product lifecycles and designing for maintainability and component longevity Practical, hands-on engineering mindset with the ability to balance design, testing, and real-world constraints Compensation depends on experience but is typically $100-125K; however, we are willing to send qualified candidates over-budget.
