Job Description

Immediate deployment opportunity for experienced Stationary Engineers. We are seeking highly qualified engineers to support short-term emergency operations at an acute care hospital facility in Los Angeles County. This assignment requires professionals who can step into a fast-paced healthcare environment and operate independently while maintaining strict compliance, safety, and documentation standards. Required - No Exceptions Unlimited LA City Stationary Engineer License (Current and Active) Applications without this license will not be reviewed. Required Experience (Healthcare Central Plant) Minimum 5 years hands-on experience operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers rated 500 HP or greater Minimum 3-5 years experience in an acute care hospital central plant environment Direct experience with: High-pressure steam generation and distribution systems Boiler feedwater systems and chemical treatment monitoring Steam condensate return systems Blowdown procedures and safety valve monitoring Emergency power systems and load transfer Chilled water systems (centrifugal and/or screw chillers) Cooling towers and condenser water systems Air compressors and compressed air systems Medical gas and medical vacuum infrastructure Experience responding to plant alarms and emergency conditions independently Ability to interpret plant schematics, P&IDs, and system diagrams Experience maintaining regulatory and operational logs in compliance with: State boiler regulations Hospital accreditation standards OSHA safety requirements Technical Competencies Strong troubleshooting skills for boiler controls, combustion systems, and monitoring systems Familiarity with BAS/EMS systems (Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.) Proficient in reading blueprints and mechanical drawings Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and assist with facility-related mechanical tasks when required Strong documentation discipline and attention to compliance detail Professional Expectations Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-acuity environment Calm and confident during emergency or high-pressure situations Strong communication skills with hospital leadership and plant teams Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset Reliable, punctual, and able to commit fully to scheduled shifts Physical Requirements Ability to work indoors and outdoors Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to lift tools and equipment up to 100 lbs Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods
Pay:
$52.00 - $85.00 per hour
