Data Center Electrical Engineer Power Systems (Low & Medium Voltage)

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and validation of power systems for large-scale data center infrastructure. This role will focus on both low voltage (DC) and medium voltage electrical systems, supporting the development of reliable, scalable power architectures for mission-critical environments. This individual will play a key role in the design phase—partnering closely with internal engineering teams and external architecture & engineering (A&E) firms to review system designs, validate technical requirements, and ensure alignment with performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing electrical system designs and drawings, supporting system-level architecture decisions, and ensuring that cabling, distribution, and component selections meet overall infrastructure requirements. The engineer will also be responsible for identifying gaps in design, recommending improvements, and ensuring systems are built to support high-availability data center environments. This is a highly collaborative, design-focused role—not an operations or maintenance position—and requires strong experience working across cross-functional engineering teams to bring complex infrastructure designs from concept through finalized design packages. Responsibilities Support end-to-end electrical system design for data center infrastructure, spanning low voltage (DC) and medium voltage systems Review and validate electrical designs, schematics, and construction drawings developed by internal teams and external A&E partners Ensure system designs meet technical requirements, performance standards, and overall infrastructure needs Evaluate electrical distribution systems, including cabling, component selection, and overall system architecture Partner with cross-functional teams (mechanical, infrastructure, and program teams) to align on integrated system design Identify design gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards, including NEC and related frameworks Support design iteration cycles by providing technical feedback and guidance throughout the design phase We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. • 8-10+ years of experience in electrical engineering within complex infrastructure environments
• Experience designing both medium voltage and low voltage electrical systems
• Strong experience with system-level electrical design, including power distribution and cabling
• Experience reviewing and validating engineering drawings and design documentation
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC required; NFPA is a plus)
• Proven ability to work in a design-phase engineering environment, partnering with internal teams and external A&E firms
• Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with

ISO 26262

functional safety requirements.

• Knowledge of SCADA and power management systems.
• Experience in containerized or modular data center environments.
• Exposure to Google's AI-driven data capacity initiatives.
• Skills in EMC testing and worst-case circuit analysis.
