Staff Transmission Engineer LVI Associates - 4.4 San Diego, CA Job Details $100,000 - $160,000 a year 6 hours ago Qualifications High-voltage electrical systems Full Job Description The team is seeking a Staff Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to support continued growth across its Transmission & Distribution portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and support engineering design for overhead transmission line projects Perform
PLS-CADD
modeling, line routing, and structure analysis Develop loading trees, design criteria, and sag-tension calculations Conduct wire blowout, swing angle, and clearance studies Support structure spotting and material/hardware selection Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates Assist with field installation support as needed This role also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development. There is a clear path toward stepping into a leadership position, including client-facing responsibilities and technical oversight of projects. What They're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering 3+ years of experience in overhead transmission line design (HV) Experience working across ~69kV-500kV projects preferred Familiarity with tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar EIT or PE (or progress toward licensure) strongly preferred Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills Additional Details Opportunities available in multiple California locations ~10% travel required
