Working in close coordination with UCSF departments, project managers, design consultants, vendors, and internal ITS teams, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer provides technical direction and construction oversight for all phases of infrastructure deployment—including low-voltage systems, copper and fiber cabling, endpoint, telephony, DaaS and health care modality installations. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer manages and inspects the installation, upgrade, and repair of both inside-plant and outside-plant communication systems, ensuring compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and code requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating field activities, reviewing as-built documentation, conducting site walks, resolving construction conflicts, and ensuring high-quality installation and service delivery. Through proactive engagement and technical expertise, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer ensures UCSF's IT infrastructure continues to evolve, scale, and perform to meet the demands of the Health, Education, Research, and Business enterprises.
