Location US-CT-Groton Seat Location EB Groton Shipyard Trade Engineering Shift 1st Security Clearance Required Secret Overview The Stern Area System (SAS) and TSMS team has seen significant growth over the past few years and has an opening for a Test Engineer. Department 440 is a unique engineering organization with a range of responsibilities. Specific projects could include developing system documentation, drawings and test procedures, supporting shipboard construction and test, and supporting the fleet with troubleshooting once the systems are in use. To do this, test engineers will interface with engineers of various disciplines, Electric Boat management, Electric Boat Program Offices, Navy Laboratories, SUPSHIP, and NAVSEA. In this construction support role, test engineers will interface with trade personnel, Planning, Program Office, Ship's Management, and SUPSHIP.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent 10+ years of Electrical experience in troubleshooting, and reading electrical schematics Active Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense is required.
Preferred:
Experience in electrical system components integration Experience in ship construction Experience in TeamCenter/EVB drawings processes Submarine experience Skills Knowledge in or ability to learn how to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical diagrams construction drawings, equipment drawing, and vendor equipment manuals and be familiar with shipbuilding specifications, technical manuals and other source documentation.
