Job Description

job summary: Our client is looking to add a substation engineer to their growing team. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity located in the North Haven CT area. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in substation electrical design. This person will understand how to develop AC/DC schematics and wire diagrams for substations and will also understand substation primary design.
location:
North Haven, Connecticut job type: Contract salary: $47 - 50 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Learn and apply all aspects of physical substation design, including:

General arrangements, elevations, raceway and grounding plans, lighting protection, station service systems, and control building layoutsPreparation of associated bills of materialPrepare technical specifications for electrical equipment, evaluate vendor proposals, and review vendor drawingsPerform technical calculations and develop reports for grounding, lightning protection, yard lighting, and AC/DC load studies Qualifications Develop AC/DC schmatics and wire diagreams for substationsSubstation primary designElectrical Engineering degree or equivalent #LI-MT1 qualifications: Experience level: ExperiencedMinimum 4 years of experience
