Engineer I:
Salary Range $70,508.95 to $105,763.43Core Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field).Licensure:
Must possess (or obtain within 14 days of hire) and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.Engineer II:
Salary Range $74,054.20 to $111,081.30Certification:
Obtain Engineering Intern (EI) certification by passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.Experience:
Two (2) years of engineering experience in Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering, specifically pertaining to Utilities or Public Works.Approvals:
Recommendation from the Department Director; review by the Director of Human Resources; final approval by the City Manager.Core Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field).Experience:
Two (2) years of engineering experience specifically pertaining to Utilities or Public Works. (Note:
A Master's degree counts as one year of experience).Certification/Alternative:
Possession of the Engineering Intern (EI) certification; OR Five (5) years of engineering-related work experience (with at least two of those years served with the City of Boynton Beach).Licensure:
Must possess (or obtain within 14 days of hire) and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License. Requirements to Advance toEngineer III Licensure:
Possession of a valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Florida.Experience:

Salary Range $93,121.38 to $139,676.00Core Requirements:

Valid Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and valid Florida Driver's License.Experience:
Eight (8) years of total engineering experience, including four (4) years as a P.E. in Utilities or Public Works. Career Path Transition Option Employees within this track may request a one-time transition to the Project Management career path upon obtaining the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Process:
Request must be reviewed by the Department Director and Director of Human Resources, with final approval by the City Manager.Condition:
This is a permanent move; the employee will remain in the Project Management career path thereafter.COMMUNICATION COMPETENCIES
The ability to clearly communicate Department and City Goals, Policies, Strategic Plans and other key information to employees and peers using multiple communication platforms including e-mail and social media. Effectively communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, contractors, engineers, utility companies, vendors, outside agencies, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. Accurately and expeditiously receives and delivers messages and information to the appropriate individuals. Ability to prepare accurate and thorough written records and reports. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to complete assigned tasks with minimal direction. Ability to understand and quickly and accurately follow brief oral and written instructions on moderately complex matters.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of road design and construction principles and practices as applied to the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. Knowledge of utility engineering and construction principles and practices as applied to the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Knowledge and understanding of rules, regulations, and procedures concerning operations and maintenance of public and utility infrastructure.. Knowledge of regulatory permitting, reporting and operating requirements for utilities systems. Knowledge of designing standards for utility infrastructure. Knowledge of the capabilities and results of AutoCADD plans and Profile Drawings, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and hydraulic modeling. Ability to use hydraulic and hydrology software models. Ability to articulate and convey presentations using multiple platforms, in a clear and concise manner. Ability to create clear and comprehensive reports. Ability to read and understand plans and specifications and determine engineering compliance, as specified in City, state, and local codes, ordinances, resolutions, regulations, standards, specifications, policies and procedures. Ability to conduct field inspections for engineering compliance as specified in City, state, and local codes, ordinances, resolutions, regulations, standards, specifications, policies and procedures.VETERANS' PREFERENCE
