- 15 Years)#26-15856 Juno Beach, FL Remote Job Description Senior Power System Studies Engineer
- Position Description This position supports engineering activities for renewable energy and transmission projects within the Engineering & Construction (E&C) organization.
- Create and validate PSSE and PSCAD models for transmission line and generation projects.
- Perform and review steady state, dynamic, short circuit and other power system analyses for transmission lines and renewable facilities.
- Perform and review transmission line design studies in PSCAD including line energization, switching overvoltage study, shunt reactor sizing, auto reclosing, etc
- Provide technical expertise to all aspects of interconnection processes and operational requirements.
- Work closely with ISO's/Utilities/Regulatory agencies to manage interconnection processes for client facilities.
- Ensure compliance with regional modeling requirements for new and existing generation and transmission line projects.
- Develop software tools that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiency.
- Contribute new designs or techniques that others within the industry regard as major advances in their area of expertise.
- Ensure implementation of standards, policies, training, and support of organization.
- Prepare communications, presentations and conduct meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with power system analysis tools including PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, TSAT and Client PSLF software.
- Knowledge of interconnection procedures as defined by ISO's/Utilities/TOs across U.S.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts such as power flow, stability, voltage regulation, reactive support etc.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
