  • 15 Years)#26-15856 Juno Beach, FL Remote Job Description Senior Power System Studies Engineer
  • Position Description This position supports engineering activities for renewable energy and transmission projects within the Engineering & Construction (E&C) organization.
The selected candidate will be responsible for power system analysis, steady-state and dynamic modeling, and generation and transmission planning for generation, transmission, and substation projects within the E&C group. Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create and validate PSSE and PSCAD models for transmission line and generation projects.
  • Perform and review steady state, dynamic, short circuit and other power system analyses for transmission lines and renewable facilities.
  • Perform and review transmission line design studies in PSCAD including line energization, switching overvoltage study, shunt reactor sizing, auto reclosing, etc
  • Provide technical expertise to all aspects of interconnection processes and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with ISO's/Utilities/Regulatory agencies to manage interconnection processes for client facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regional modeling requirements for new and existing generation and transmission line projects.
  • Develop software tools that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiency.
  • Contribute new designs or techniques that others within the industry regard as major advances in their area of expertise.
  • Ensure implementation of standards, policies, training, and support of organization.
  • Prepare communications, presentations and conduct meetings.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with power system analysis tools including PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, TSAT and Client PSLF software.
  • Knowledge of interconnection procedures as defined by ISO's/Utilities/TOs across U.S.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts such as power flow, stability, voltage regulation, reactive support etc.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
