Job Description

Title:
Technology Analyst (SCADA)
Location:
Tampa FL Schedule:
8 hours/day, 5 days/week
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role supports the configuration, administration, testing, and ongoing support of computer systems and applications critical to Gas Control operations. The Technology Analyst partners closely with controllers, engineers, and technical teams to deliver technology solutions that support both current and future operational goals. The position also serves as a liaison between Gas Control and IT teams and external software vendors, helping align business processes with technology capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support, configure, test, and maintain computer-based applications that support Gas Control operations, including SCADA systems Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements to improve operational efficiency Collaborate with controllers, engineers, IT teams, and vendors to deliver effective technical solutions Independently define scope and objectives for small to medium-sized tasks and initiatives Create low-complexity reports, queries, and data extracts; monitor applications to ensure data integrity and accuracy Serve as a liaison between Gas Control and other technical groups, maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders Conduct meetings and communicate updates clearly to end users and stakeholders Maintain and support the department's Alarm Management Plan Provide ongoing technical support and recommend process improvements for Gas Control operations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, including system support within a utility or operational environment Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage higher-complexity issues Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SharePoint Strong attention to detail with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Technical aptitude, initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness An associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field may be considered in lieu of some experience.
PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience as a SCADA system administrator Hands-on experience with VB.NET Experience writing SQL queries SharePoint administration experience, including SharePoint Designer Experience working in a Gas Control environment Knowledge of natural gas distribution operations Understanding of the design and operational characteristics of natural gas distribution systems, including gate stations and regulator stations
