The team works across the full project lifecycle, from initial planning through design, permitting, and construction support, serving utility clients and related owners throughout the region. This position is based out of the Norcross, GA office and reports to a senior civil engineering lead. Schedule Monday through Friday, standard business hours. The role is primarily office-based in Norcross, GA, with site visits and project travel expected up to 20% of the time.
Compensation:
$100,000 - $140,000 Per Year What You'll Do As a civil site engineer on this team, your primary focus is site design for substations and related utility infrastructure. That work includes grading, drainage layout, stormwater management system design, paving, and erosion control planning. You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop design models and produce construction drawings, and will apply hydrology and hydraulics tools, including Hydraflow Hydrographs, Hydraflow Express, and Hydraflow Storm Sewers, to size and document stormwater systems. Preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan reports and stormwater compliance documentation is a core part of the position. You will interpret geotechnical reports and subsurface investigation data to inform grading decisions and foundation recommendations. Foundation work may include design assistance on shallow foundations, spread footings, and drilled piers. You will prepare and assemble permitting packages and coordinate with local and state regulatory agencies to move projects through the approval process. The role also involves close coordination with electrical, structural, and geotechnical engineers throughout the design phase. You will contribute to technical reports, project specifications, and construction documents, participate in internal QA/QC reviews, and conduct field assessments and construction-phase coordination visits at project sites. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution 4 to 7 years of experience in civil site development, grading, and drainage design Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Demonstrated experience with stormwater design and hydrology/hydraulics modeling Familiarity with permitting processes and applicable regulatory requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work from the Norcross, GA office on a regular basis Willingness to travel up to 20% for project site visits Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia, or active licensure in another state with the ability to obtain Georgia reciprocity Experience with utility or substation site development projects Familiarity with SWPPP preparation and stormwater compliance documentation Experience coordinating within multidisciplinary engineering project teams Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary commensurate with experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and company holidays Professional development and licensure support To apply, submit your resume and a brief summary of relevant civil site design experience.
