SUE/Utilities Engineer Farnsworth Group $80,000
  • $100,000 vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) United States, Illinois, Lisle 1011 Warrenville Road (Show on map) Apr 23, 2026 Farnsworth Group is seeking a SUE/Utilities Engineer in the posting location below.
In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects based around Utility Coordination and Subsurface Utility Engineering comprised of conflict analysis, utility mapping, field designating and development of utility reports. This is an excellent opportunity to increase your knowledge base and experience in the energy and utility industry.

Lisle, IL What You'll Do:
Provide technical support as part of an engineering team on projects reporting directly to Farnsworth Group's project manager Field support
  • provide utility designation services by identifying, locating and mapping underground utilities in the field to create a 2D map Project execution
  • provide technical and design support for the development of utility drawings Project coordination with various project team stakeholders including but not limited to client representatives, internal departments (i.e. survey, CAD, etc.), subcontractors, subconsultants, and other Energy and Utility team members Utility coordination
  • work with 3rd parties to communicate impacts and necessary modifications to existing infrastructure Observe construction at field locations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
What You'll Need:
BS in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering degree), from an ABET accredited institution 3-5 years of experience in the utility industry Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus Professional Engineering (PE) registration a plus Computer proficiency with MS Office
  • Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills Must be able to travel and have a valid driver's license Must be willing to work outside in various weather conditions The employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds Who We Are Join Farnsworth Group, a nationally recognized architectural, engineering, and surveying firm, where your career can thrive!

Salary Range:
$80,000
