Job Title:
Electrical Subsystems Engineer Job Description Join a leading industry team as an Electrical Subsystems Engineer responsible for developing adapters and electrical systems to connect chassis wire harnessing and electrical equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on custom system development and innovation. Responsibilities Develop adapters and electrical systems to connect chassis wire harnessing and electrical equipment. Communicate with chassis manufacturers to obtain electrical information. Field calls from distributors to troubleshoot wiring issues. Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting of wiring for all truck bodies. Write new Engineering Change Orders to implement new wiring offerings. Perform mechanical tasks such as developing brackets for mounting resistors on different chassis. Lead other Electrical Engineers and manage projects. Travel occasionally to troubleshoot trucks in the field (5% domestic travel). Essential Skills Experience with 12V Power Systems. Ability to create and comprehend electrical schematics. 2 to 5 years of experience in 12V automotive systems. Good understanding of CAN BUS. Experience with electrical troubleshooting. Project Management experience. Customer and OEM interface skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical Design Experience is a plus. Telematics Experience is a plus. Experience with 120V Power Systems. Hands-on electrical experience in a lab setting. Experience with wire harnesses, routing, and protection. Electrical CAD design experience, preferably Solidworks or ProCable. Work Environment The position is located in the corporate building's applications team in Quincy, featuring a modern and massive facility with approximately 3000 employees. The site includes manufacturing and assembly areas. Enjoy onsite café options and local dining within driving distance. The dress code is business casual, with jeans acceptable unless a significant meeting or customer visit is scheduled. The company boasts a family-oriented atmosphere, a history of over 100 years, and an environment with very low turnover. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quincy, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $42.26/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
