Automation Systems Engineer Maverick Tech Kansas City, KS Job Details Full-time $45.84 - $90.99 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Industrial automation Human-machine interface (HMI) systems Equipment installation System design Schematic development for electrical drafting Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) Electrical control system design Full Job Description About the Role As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of complex industrial control systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency. You will play a pivotal role in modernizing our facility by leveraging advanced PLC logic, robotics, and integrated networking to ensure seamless production operations. Responsibilities Architect and deploy robust PLC and IPC-based hardware and software solutions to automate critical manufacturing processes. Develop and refine complex logic for Allen Bradley ControlLogix and SLC platforms to maximize machine uptime and performance. Lead the end-to-end engineering of capital equipment projects, from initial specification and design to final installation and commissioning. Design and integrate sophisticated HMI, servo control, and data collection systems to provide actionable insights into machine performance. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and digital archives for all facility control systems and electrical schematics. Implement and manage industrial ethernet networks to ensure high-speed, reliable communication between controllers and field devices. Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for automated systems to minimize downtime and resolve complex operational challenges. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field (or 5+ years of equivalent industrial experience). Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with HMI, SCADA, and PLC control system design. Proven proficiency in programming and installing Allen Bradley ControlLogix hardware. Demonstrated ability to produce precise, professional electrical system drawing packages. Strong analytical skills with a self-starting mindset and the ability to execute projects independently. Preferred Skills Direct experience with robotic system integration, programming, and position teaching. Proficiency in FactoryTalk View ME/SE software environments. Experience managing complex capital installation projects within a manufacturing setting.
