Professional Engineer

We are seeking a Professional Engineer for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a major utility organization in New Orleans. This role is ideal for a licensed PE who wants to support critical public infrastructure projects and work on systems that directly impact the city's long-term operations, reliability, and service delivery. The selected candidate will assist with engineering planning, project coordination, technical review, and infrastructure-related improvements across utility operations.

Responsibilities:

Provide engineering support for utility infrastructure, capital improvement, and operational projects. Review plans, specifications, drawings, reports, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance. Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and field teams to support project execution. Assist with evaluating existing systems, identifying issues, and recommending practical engineering solutions. Monitor project progress, timelines, documentation, and deliverables. Ensure work aligns with applicable codes, standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Prepare technical reports, project updates, engineering recommendations, and related documentation. Support inspections, site visits, and field coordination as needed.

Requirements:

Active Professional Engineer license required . Prior experience in civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental, utility, water, wastewater, drainage, infrastructure, or public works engineering preferred. Strong technical review, project coordination, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with engineers, contractors, consultants, inspectors, and internal stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD, GIS, project management, or engineering software experience a plus. Must be able to work on-site in New Orleans. #IND1
