Direct Hire Must be a U.S. Citizenship (required due to ITAR regulations) Open to candidate who need to relocation, the company will pay Position Summary Exosens Scientific is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support electrical testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing of Microchannel Plates (MCPs) and Channeltron detectors. This role operates directly on the factory floor within an ISO 7 cleanroom and ensures detector assemblies meet electrical, vacuum, and performance specifications. The ideal candidate is a hardware-focused engineer who enjoys working with high-voltage, high-vacuum systems and is comfortable in a highly technical, hands-on environment. This position plays a key role in sustaining production, improving yield, and supporting the transition from manual to semi-automated test systems. Candidates with backgrounds in semiconductors, vacuum systems, photonics, electron optics, or similar high-voltage technologies are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Electrical Testing & Data Integrity Perform electrical testing of MCPs and Channeltron detectors Operate and maintain high-vacuum systems (10?? to 10?? Torr) Ensure data accuracy and escalate anomalies as needed Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis Diagnose issues in detector assemblies (electrical and mechanical) Perform full teardown and root cause analysis Investigate failures such as low gain, shorts, vacuum leaks, contamination, and misalignment Manufacturing Support Partner closely with cleanroom operators on daily production activities Provide rapid response to production issues Develop and update work instructions, SOPs, and test documentation Train operators and engineers on testing and teardown procedures Drive yield improvement and scrap reduction initiatives Process Improvement & Quality Track and analyze yield, scrap, and defect trends Utilize tools such as MINITAB for SPC and trend analysis Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and SPC Promote adherence toISO 9001
Quality Management System Equipment & Test Systems Maintain and configure test equipment (high-voltage power supplies, vacuum systems, electrometers, oscilloscopes) Support test fixture setup and modifications Assist with transition to automated testing solutions Cross-Functional Collaboration Support BOM development, routings, tooling, and cost estimates Provide engineering support across multiple product lines Ensure on-time delivery of production outputs Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship (required due to ITAR regulations) Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Physics, or related engineering field Hands-on experience with high voltage, vacuum systems, precision instrumentation, or cleanroom environments Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems Solid mechanical aptitude and willingness to work directly with hardware Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general engineering software tools Preferred Qualifications Experience in semiconductor, photonics, vacuum systems, or electron optics industries Familiarity with SPC tools (e.g., MINITAB) Experience with high-voltage power supplies, turbopumps, vacuum chambers, or electrometers Background in assembling/disassembling delicate electro-mechanical systems Understanding of electron-multiplying devices (e.g., MCPs, PMTs, avalanche detectors) Work Environment 100% on-site in an ISO 7 cleanroom (gowning required) Exposure to high-voltage and high-vacuum equipment (training provided) Day shift with occasional off-shift support for critical production needs Use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protectionAdditional Details Experience Level:
