Full Job Description Description:
About the role We're building BOLD in the US — starting in Michigan. This is not a maintenance role. This is about building something from scratch. At BOLD, we bring Formula 1 engineering DNA into high-performance, mission-critical applications , combining speed, precision, and innovation with the robustness required in defense environments. We are looking for a Battery Systems Technical Lead to drive the development of next-generation high-voltage battery systems — from concept through production — in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. If you're excited about real ownership, technical challenges, and working on systems where performance and reliability truly matter , this role is for you. What you'll do Mentor engineers and contribute to building a strong high-performance engineering culture Own the end-to-end system definition and architecture of high-voltage battery systems Lead safety-critical design decisions, including FMEA, FTA, and functional safety integration Define and manage system requirements using a structured, requirements-based approach Drive cross-functional integration across hardware, software, and mechanical teams Lead technical reviews and validation activities, ensuring readiness for production Develop and oversee electro-thermal models and simulations to support performance and safety targets Act as a key technical reference within a growing US-based engineering team Mentor engineers and contribute to building a strong high-performance engineering culture Role scope & level This is a senior individual contributor role (Principal level). While this position does not initially include direct reports, it is expected to be a technical leadership role with potential team growth over time. Expected to contribute to building and shaping the US engineering team over the next 12 months.
