Job Description

Distribution Design Engineer I Start Your Career in Power Delivery Launch your engineering career with a nationally recognized team supporting the transformation of critical energy infrastructure and the safe, reliable delivery of power to communities. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to grow in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment. What You'll Do + Assist with the design of electric and gas distribution systems for utility infrastructure projects. + Prepare overhead and underground design packages using AutoCAD and related tools. + Participate in field visits, gather site data, and help identify design issues and practical solutions. + Perform basic engineering calculations and maintain accurate project documentation. + Work closely with experienced engineers while learning industry standards, utility practices, and project delivery expectations. What You Bring + Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. + 0-2 years of experience, including internships, co-ops, or relevant academic projects. + Familiarity with power systems, utilities, or infrastructure design. + Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software. + Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a willingness to learn in a team-focused environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00
