We are seeking an experienced professional to support major EPC substation projects and play a critical role in ensuring high-quality technical delivery. Our team values mentorship, technical skill development, and collaboration to ensure success in complex power infrastructure projects.Responsibilities:
Guide and mentor teams to ensure technical quality in the development of substation design packages, and represent technical work confidently to clients. Prepare and develop substation design documents, including physical arrangements, protective relaying and control, as well as electrical studies such as grounding, lightning analysis, and lighting/security. Support substation projects from conceptual planning through completion, adapting engineering plans according to budget, design factors, or client requirements. Conduct and review design calculations, perform quality reviews, participate in field inspections, and contribute to proposals and client presentations as needed.Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related degree from an ABET accredited program and a minimum of 3 years of substation engineering experience (consulting preferred); or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam plus a minimum of 3 years of substation engineering experience (consulting preferred). Demonstrated experience in either physical design or protection and control (P&C). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Proficient computer skills, particularly within Microsoft Office Suite, and a desire to work collaboratively in a team environment. EIT certification or PE licensure preferred.About SSI People:
