This is a 28-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay:
$32.00 - $37.00/hr ; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Description:
We are looking for a dedicated professional to support Distribution Grid Operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the performance of SCADA, DMS, OMS, and other DCC systems by managing Distribution SCADA devices. Key operational activities include Volt/Var optimization, self-healing, switching, and control. Proficiency in DMS, OMS, SCADA, and other DCC systems and field control equipment is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and Maintain:
Oversee the performance of substation and feeder SCADA devices, determine corrective actions, and issue maintenance requests. Operate devices as needed for problem resolution or to support field activities.
Commissioning and Installation:
Commission new and replacement SCADA devices. Assist in installing, programming, and maintaining process system equipment used for DMS, SCADA, OMS, etc., to ensure continuous operation.
Diagnose and Resolve:
Diagnose software, hardware, and communications problems on real-time distribution process systems using multiple networks and communications technologies.
Modeling and Optimization:
Ensure new SCADA devices are correctly modeled into the systems and that field engineering uses SCADA devices effectively by relocating devices as needed.
Proficiency and Knowledge:
Acquire proficiency in DMS, OMS, SCADA, and other DCC systems and field control equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems. Ensure the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities. Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches. Conduct engineering and related studies. Strive to continually improve job-related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance. Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Maintain accurate records and files. Support the company's goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
Requirements:
Experience in the electric utility industry. Experience working in a control center environment for an electric utility. Experience with and/or knowledge of Distribution SCADA and Distribution Management Systems (DMS). Knowledge of electric power systems and their components. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Power BI, Word, and Outlook. Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred, along with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience; or 5 to 10 years of equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
