Laser Service Location:
Charlotte/Concord, NC Area Your day-to-day On Monday morning, you head to a regional customer site as the on-site expert for Mitsubishi laser cutting systems. By mid-morning, you've reviewed schematics, traced signals, and isolated a fault. After rebuilding an assembly and dialing in final adjustments, you walk the customer through what happened and how you fixed it. Throughout the week you'll split time between hands-on mechanical work, electrical diagnostics, and clear communication—so by Friday evening, you're headed home with satisfied customers and detailed service notes submitted. What you'll do Travel to customer facilities to diagnose, troubleshoot, and restore Mitsubishi CNC laser machinery to optimal operation. Execute thorough mechanical and electrical inspections, including dismantling, rebuilding, alignment, and system tuning. Provide remote phone support when appropriate to quickly triage issues. Engage customers with professional, plain‑language explanations of findings, timelines, and outcomes. Leverage schematics, wiring and block diagrams to drive precise, data‑based repairs. Create clear service reports that capture actions taken, root causes, and resolutions; submit accurate expenses promptly. Care for company tools, test gear, and assigned vehicles to keep them field‑ready. Pitch in with additional tasks that elevate customer satisfaction and team performance. What you bring Hands‑on background in machining, manufacturing processes, or industrial equipment. Comfort using diagnostic and precision tools: voltmeters/multimeters, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and more. Confidence with Windows‑based PCs and service software. Clear written and verbal communication. Ability to work at heights when required. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel extensively Monday-Friday. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Preferred background Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or related field. Proven troubleshooting across electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation. Experience with electrical measurement equipment (e.g., voltmeter, oscilloscope). Experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges). Travel and schedule Expect Monday-Friday travel with return home by Friday evening in most cases. Travel is primarily regional, with occasional nationwide or international assignments. You'll receive comprehensive training to build a long‑term career in machinery and manufacturing technology. Working conditions Primarily indoors at customer sites with exposure to industrial environments, temperature variation, and noise. Frequent driving using a personal vehicle or company‑approved rental; mileage or rental costs reimbursed per policy. Occasional overtime; safe motor‑vehicle operation required. Physical requirements Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, and hand‑intensive tasks. Regular lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent pushing/pulling of equipment up to 50 lbs.; heavier moves may use carts or mechanical aids. Strong visual acuity, including color recognition.
