Job description: Job Overview Zone Engineering positions We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Residential Distribution Designer to join our team in Hickory NC. This mid-level role requires a professional with proficiency in underground utility design, substation design, AutoCad, BOUD, Maximo, and Microstation, along with substantial experience in project management and power line extension design. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with schedulers and planners to ensure the seamless execution of residential power distribution projects. Design and Planning:
Create and develop comprehensive designs for residential power distribution systems, including underground power and power line extensions. Utilize BOUD, Maximo, and PoleForeman software to draft and manage design plans. Ensure all designs meet client Systems standards and regulatory requirements.Project Management:
Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of residential power distribution projects. Collaborate with project managers, schedulers, and planners to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to mitigate risks.Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with internal teams including engineers, schedulers, planners, and field technicians. Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines. Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders as needed.Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design specifications, progress reports, and compliance records. Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant team members and stakeholders. Skills This mid-level role requires a professional with proficiency in underground utility design, substation design, AutoCad, BOUD, Maximo, and MicroStation, along with substantial experience in project management and power line extension design. Proficient in BOUD, Maximo software. Pole Foreman a plus Strong understanding of client Systems and industry standards. Extensive experience with underground power design and power line extension design.Experience:
Minimum of 3-8 years of experience in residential development distribution design. Demonstrated project management experience, with a history of successfully managing and delivering complex projects.Education:
Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications and training in power distribution design and project management are a plus.Skills and Abilities:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Experience Preferred:
