Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power Systems Engineer II to join our growing engineering team in Raleigh, NC. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving real-world electrical challenges and wants to make a direct impact on the safety, reliability, and performance of critical infrastructure. As part of a specialized power systems engineering firm, you will work on projects supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, and mission-critical facilities . You will be involved in both analytical and field-based work, contributing to projects from initial system studies through implementation. This position offers a clear path for professional growth, including opportunities to advance into project leadership and Engineer-in-Responsible-Charge roles. Key Responsibilities Power System Analysis Perform comprehensive power system studies, including: Short circuit analysis Protective device coordination Load flow analysis Motor starting studies Arc flash hazard analysis Interpret results and provide actionable recommendations Field Testing & Troubleshooting Conduct power quality testing and field investigations Troubleshoot electrical system issues in real-world environments Collect and analyze data from portable and installed monitoring equipment Electrical Design Design and improve low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems Work with equipment such as: Switchgear Transformers Motor Control Centers (MCCs) Protective relays and devices Grounding systems Standards & Compliance Apply and interpret industry standards, including: IEEE Standards ANSI Standards National Electrical Code (NEC)

Ensure all designs and recommendations meet safety and regulatory requirements Client & Project Collaboration Work directly with clients to develop practical, safe, and cost-effective solutions Support project development, technical proposals, and presentations Collaborate with internal engineering teams and stakeholders Project & Career Development Lead or support on-site activities with a strong focus on safety Contribute to project planning and execution Progress toward leadership roles and increased technical responsibility Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university 3-7 years of experience in power system studies and/or industrial electrical design Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems across multiple facility types Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Willingness to travel within assigned regions (NC, SC, or NY) Preferred Qualifications Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience in a consulting engineering environment Hands-on experience with power system software such as: SKM PowerTools EasyPower
ETAP EDSA
