Job Description

Role Overview The Product Design Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing product design, testing, and analysis activities for projects of moderate scope, or for significant subsystems within larger, complex programs. This role operates in a collaborative team environment, contributing to design solutions, participating in design reviews, and supporting cross-functional engineering efforts. Decisions are made within established engineering guidelines and are subject to review by senior engineers or supervisors. The position may provide technical direction and review work completed by support personnel. Key Responsibilities Apply knowledge of company products, policies, and engineering practices to drive cost efficiency through part and product standardization. Develop and evaluate design solutions that improve cost, quality, reliability, and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply management, quality, marketing, and suppliers. Prepare and document engineering analyses, reports, and technical data to support design decisions, prototype builds, and production adoption. Develop and execute test and/or analysis plans to support product verification and validation. Provide technical support across manufacturing, quality, marketing, and supply management organizations. Analyze engineering assignments and define specifications necessary to solve complex problems or deliver projects of moderate scope. Apply advanced engineering methods and tools to address higher-level technical challenges. Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and engineering analysis tools. Experience using enterprise engineering systems, databases, and processes. Solid understanding of engineering principles, theories, and best practices. Working knowledge of company products and how engineering principles apply to them. Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the assigned business unit. Familiarity with competitor products and industry standards. Knowledge of structured product development processes such as: Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) Enterprise Technology Development Process (ETDP) Enterprise Customer Acquisition Process (ECAP) Education One of the following (or equivalent experience): Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Bachelor's degree in Science Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences Experience Requirements 1-3 years of engineering experience in a product development or technical environment 1-3 years of experience using engineering tools, systems, and databases 1-3 years of experience with CAD systems 1-3 years of technical experience related to the design and/or diagnostics of: Mechanical systems Electrical systems Hydraulic systems 1-3 years of product engineering experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fargo, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
