Our engineering teams play a critical role in modernizing infrastructure, supporting grid resilience, and enabling future-focused energy solutions. As a Substation Civil Engineer III, you'll take on advanced technical responsibilities in civil/structural substation design•foundations, containment, grading, structural analysis, and equipment layout•while managing small to medium-sized projects from concept through closeout. You'll help shape OPPD's infrastructure strategy and support the safe transformation and delivery of power across the region. The Impact You'll Have Lead civil/structural design for substation projects, including foundation engineering, spill containment, and structural load calculations. Manage small and medium-scale projects , coordinating estimating, permitting, procurement, and construction support. Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and reliability requirements (NERC/MRO/SPP). Contribute to large or complex project teams , providing technical expertise and design leadership. Stay current on emerging technologies and apply them to improve design quality and efficiency. Guide equipment layout and site development planning to optimize safety and operability. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a strong preference for Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Four years of engineering experience (master's degree may substitute for up to two years). Knowledge of applicable regulations and codes. Valid driver's license.

Experience with Ventyx, Cognos, AutoDesk, Bentley MicroStation, Master's degree Advanced MS Office proficiency Substation design experience Understanding of
NESC, OSHA, ASCE

This position may be required to report to work beyond the normal shift to support the restoration of normal business operations. This position must be available for overtime work and callouts as required to ensure continuance of efficient operation.

Work will be performed in a modern office environment amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, and noises.

Work will be performed outside in a wide variety of weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, cold, wind, etc.), terrain, and other natural environmental hazards as well as pollen and other airborne allergens.
Work Environment:

Physical Demands:
Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.¿ Light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
