Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Department Director or designee, performs engineering work involved in the procurement, planning, design, construction, inspection, operation and maintenance of County infrastructure and systems; serves as project manager, evaluates performance of new and existing operations, and provides guidance and direction to work crews, as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or related field.
• Six years of experience in a related engineering function or for a consulting engineer.
• New Mexico Licensed Professional Engineer or registration in a different state with the ability to become licensed in New Mexico within six months of employment.
• Must possess or have ability to obtain within first sixty days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver's license.
• Successful completion of the pre-employment physical exam prior to commencing work.
• If working in Utilities, successful completion of mandatory drug screening and subsequent random drug and alcohol screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Supervisory experience.
• Experience with computer aided design systems such as AutoCAD, Digenetic, and ARC information.
• Experience with Project Management software.
• Project Management Professional Certificate.
