You'll be accountable for directing, overseeing and being in responsible charge of technical quality of challenging engineering tasks in accordance with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. Working with a team of project managers, engineers, and support staff you will provide structural engineering services for electrical generation and transmission projects. Here's what you'll need: We are seeking an innovative Senior Structural Engineer to help us deliver electrical transmission and generation projects in North America for utilities and private developers. Structural engineering services range from conceptual through final design, including coordination of general structural plans, foundations designs, rigid bus systems design, oil containment structures design, general substation overhead and other ancillary structures design, related permitting applications, specifications, coordination with other disciplines, and quantity takeoffs. #LI-CC1 #epjobs #naepjobs

THIS ROLE CAN SIT AT ANY OF OUR JACOBS OFFICE LOCATIONS NATIONWIDE

Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited university. Licensed Professional Engineer preferred. 10+ years of experience in structural engineering preferably for electrical utility clients, including one or more of the following facility types: electrical substation, transmission and distribution, thermal generation. Experience in structural engineering aspects of utility projects. Focus on design of structures typically used within an electrical substation and/or related energy infrastructure. Proficient in structural analysis tools such as Mathcad, RISA, STAAD, STAAD Foundation, RISA3D, RISA Foundation, LPile, etc.

Responsibilities will include:

Work effectively with multi-disciplinary global project teams, clients, and other stakeholders. Contributing to a learning environment, support fellow engineers, with the opportunity to offer mentoring, be mentored and take advantage of career development opportunities. Supporting the team to instill an inclusive culture that values diversity of thought and lives Jacobs' Culture of Caring. Provide technical direction and review of designs developed by intermediate and entry level engineers. Review existing client standards for incorporation into program and project delivery. Review designs for cost-saving opportunities and consistencies in design. Develop conceptual designs and Scopes of Work for projects undergoing regulatory approvals. Respond to contractor requests for information RFI. Attend and participate in project pre-bid meetings. Perform a technical review of bids received and make recommendations on most qualified bid. Attend construction kickoff meetings. Lead constructability meetings with construction oversight team. Guide the project through the engineering activities in the stage gate process.
