Job Title:
Distribution Engineer Job Description As a Distribution Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting work related to infrastructure repair and maintenance. You will be trained to support FirstEnergy's operations in Pennsylvania without the need for fieldwork. Your main responsibilities will include design and analysis of infrastructure repairs, finalizing work orders using DDS and Crews software, and eventually engaging in make ready work and low voltage distribution (LVD) tasks. Responsibilities Support infrastructure repair and maintenance operations for FirstEnergy. Conduct design and analysis for identified infrastructure issues. Finalize work orders using DDS design package and Crews software. Participate in make ready work and low voltage distribution (LVD) as trained. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective project completion. Essential Skills Proficiency in design and power distribution. Experience with distribution design engineering. Familiarity with electrical engineering principles. Knowledge of power delivery systems. Ability to use DDS and Crews (FirstEnergy's version of SAP). Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience with make ready design is beneficial. Interest in pursuing FE and PE licenses. Adaptability to work in a rapidly growing department. Work Environment You will be required to work three days a week at the Taylor, MI site, with the flexibility to work two days a week from home after completing training. The role is part of a dynamic team within a department connected to the Utility Energy Division. The company supports professional growth, including preparation for FE and PE exams. Initially, you will have one week of vacation and six holidays, with increased benefits upon direct employment, including two weeks of vacation, six sick days, and nine holidays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
