Full Job Description Title:
Engineer 1
Location:
Vancouver, WA (Hybrid)
Duration:
12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)
Pay Range:
$36.25 - $39.22 per hour This function provides professional engineering expertise in assisting project manager and other engineering personnel in implementing management approved projects, supporting field maintenance crews and other related engineering activities.
Position Responsibilities:
Confer with engineers, internal customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects Provide planning support, coordinate plans of service with stakeholders, and implement management approved plans for assigned projects. Prepare detailed design, material, or procurement specifications for assigned projects, verifying that technical tradeoffs have been considered, and decisions conform to existing policies and standards and are within budgetary constraints. Prepare engineering designs or assist in developing engineering requirements for the development, installation and modifications of existing facilities. Provide technical support to construction, operations, and maintenance personnel. Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles/practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
Position Requirements:
Education & Corresponding Experience A bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited college/university in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering is required. 6 months of civil, mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience in design or analysis is required. College or charitable / voluntary engineering projects may be claimed as part of the 6 months of engineering design or analysis experience. Candidates 3 months from graduation will be considered. Proof of degree will be requested after graduation. Required Technical Skills & Experience Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience using Power Query in Excel or similar program. Engineering experience at an electric transmission utility with use of
PLS-CADD
to analyze or design transmission lines is desirable for this position.
