Job Title:
Feature Systems EngineerJob Description Join our dynamic team as a Feature Systems Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of developing innovative systems and solutions in the automotive industry. This role demands expertise in systems architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on new technology development and feature integration from early stages to production. Responsibilities Lead the development of features at the systems level, including upgrades and migration plans. Develop high-level network wiring and power distribution topologies, schematics, and block diagrams. Allocate features and functions to meet cost, quality, and performance targets. Create feature, functional, and implementation specifications, along with failure mode avoidance documentation and verification plans. Conduct functional safety and cybersecurity assessments to meet use case attribute targets. Design and deploy technical solutions for endpoint hardware and software across the enterprise. Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering Software Development tools like Python and others for design and documentation. Review existing system designs to identify opportunities for cost or quality improvements. Collaborate with product, program teams, core engineers, and functional areas to create balanced solutions for complex requirements. Develop relationships with multi-functional teams and supply base to stay updated on the latest technologies. Analyze complex multi-functional systems and implement innovative solutions. Lead trade-off discussions with multi-functional teams. Communicate complex systems issues and resolutions clearly and concisely. Apply connected data analytics to understand customer needs deeply. Specialize in developing the next generation of vehicles, merging system and software engineering disciplines to create revolutionary digital experiences. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering, preferably in the automotive domain. 3 years of experience in Software Engineering. Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and/or features. Functional knowledge of electrical module design, networking, wiring, power distribution, body systems, and chassis systems. History of collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve software problems and CAN communication. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field. 5 years of related experience in an automotive engineering role. Experience with electrical systems engineering and understanding of the systems engineering V model. In-depth knowledge of Quality Documents, DFMEA, Special Characteristics, Communication and Agreement Form, and Boundary Diagrams. Experience in writing specifications and requirements. Hands-on technical role in developing, implementing, and supporting software applications. Experience progressing customer use-cases through design, architecture, development, testing, and integration cycles. Strong systems thinking and analytical skills. Effective leadership in multi-functional teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and articulate complex issues quickly. Emotional resilience to negotiate multi-functional trade-offs. Experience in electrical design review or electrical testing. Work Environment This position offers a hybrid work schedule with the option to work from home on Fridays. The role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with a diverse team to deliver innovative solutions in the automotive sector. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $46.06
