Due to the continued growth of our Grid business, we are looking for our next HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary Systems Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) within the Construction & Commissioning function to support the energy transition across Central Europe.

About the RoleThe HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary Systems Commissioning Engineer will lead and execute the testing and commissioning of the HVDC Valve Cooling and Mechanical and Building Services Systems.

In this role, you will be part of the Commissioning Team, working together with internal teams and customer representatives to ensure compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and safety requirements.

The position holder reports to the Regional Commissioning Team Leader disciplinary and on site to the Site Commissioning Manager. The role requires 100% site presence during the execution phase. Project locations are in Germany, Netherlands, Singapore, Indonesia, Dubai and optionally offshore for platform commissioning activities.

Mission DescriptionLiaise with Engineering and PM team for timely issuance of data required for preparation of site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, ...)Review Valve Cooling Sub-system & Auxiliary System architecture and drawings. Check the interfaces between these systems and 3rd party systems including GEV eLumina HVDC ControlPrepare and maintain commissioning documentation like Program, Procedures, ITPs, Checklists etc. for HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary SystemsScheduling, preparing staffing plans, manage site team mobilization and track actuals versus plan for this scopePerform, manage and support functional testing of Building Systems (BMS), Mechanical Auxiliary Systems and HVDC Valve Cooling SystemReporting on regular basis to the Site Commissioning Manager and be the first point of contact for testing and commissioning of HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary systems scope including management of the team of commissioning engineers under this scopePublish test reports and follow up completion of relevant quality documentationEnsure all Testing & Commissioning activities are performed in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

How You'll Make an ImpactYou will contribute directly to the Energy Transition by helping deliver AC, FACTS, and HVDC projects successfully to our customers.

You will realize the commissioning of critical systems that enable safe and reliable operation of substations and power transmission infrastructure.

You will develop your technical expertise through hands-on experience with state-of-the-art grid technologies and site-based project execution.

What You BringCompleted degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.

Knowledge and experience in commissioning of components such as cooling systems, HVAC, building management systems, automation systems.

Basic knowledge in elements and interfaces of electrical substations or HVDC Systems.

Strong health and safety mindset aligned with international standards, with the ability to identify and stop unsafe work.

Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlocking logic and communication schemesFluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.

Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and abroad, and optional assignments on offshore platforms.
