Ignition SCADA Engineer Marietta, GA [onsite] Permanent About the role Design, build, and maintain SCADA and visualization on Inductive Automation's Ignition platform for mission-critical facility monitoring. Based in Marietta, GA or fully remote. What you'll do
Design, develop, and maintain
SCADA/HMI
applications in Ignition Designer (Perspective and Vision)
Build and standardize tags, UDTs, templates, and screen hierarchies for site-level and central monitoring
Integrate field devices and systems — PLCs, RTUs, meters, and BMS — via OPC-UA, Modbus TCP, DNP3, and MQTT/Sparkplug
Configure alarms, notification pipelines, and SQL-backed historian, trends, and reporting
Script and automate with Python/Jython and SQL to streamline data flows and operations
Stand up and tune gateways, redundancy, store-and-forward, and database connections for high availability
Partner with controls, operations, and IT/security teams to turn monitoring requirements into reliable SCADA What we're looking for
3+ years designing and deploying
SCADA/HMI
on Inductive Automation Ignition
Strong tag/UDT architecture, Perspective and/or Vision, and scripting (Python/Jython)
SQL databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and historian/reporting integration
Industrial protocols: OPC-UA, Modbus TCP, DNP3, and MQTT/Sparkplug
Networking fundamentals (IP, VLANs, VPN, firewalls) and system-security awareness
Experience in a critical-facility, industrial, or utility environment Nice to have
Ignition Gold / Core certification
Data center power, cooling, and DCIM monitoring experience
Redundant / high-availability gateway and edge deployments
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
