Job Description:
We are supporting a major transmission utility on a critical project and are looking for a highly experienced Substation Physical Design Engineer to join on a long-term contract. This is a remote opportunity with an initial onboarding period onsite to align with the team. What you'll be doing: Leading physical design for high-voltage substations (up to 500kV) Producing and reviewing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction packages Supporting heavy civil, structural, and mechanical design aspects of substations Performing grounding design and lightning protection calculations Supporting design reviews, engineering studies, and material evaluations Contributing to design standards and best practices across projects What we're looking for: 10+ years of substation physical design experience Strong experience with 500kV substations (breaker-and-a-half preferred) Heavy AutoCAD experience Background in civil, structural, and mechanical design within substations Experience with grounding and lightning protection design Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers Engineering degree required (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) PE preferred
Project Details:
