$140,000 - $175,000Founded in 2022, our organization operates as a specialized engineering group within a larger company of more than 500 employees, with approximately 35 engineers dedicated to power generation, thermal systems, and large scale energy infrastructure. We support behind-the-meter power projects, combined cycle facilities, and thermal power systems supplying reliable generation to data centers and industrial customers. At this location, our team delivers full lifecycle engineering for projects ranging from 100 million to 5 billion dollars, including balance of plant design, system modeling, equipment integration, and consulting support across multiple states. We serve major developers, independent power producers, and data center operators throughout the United States. We are currently working on two major design projects involving behind the meter and combined cycle power systems built to supply dedicated electricity to large data centers in Texas and Ohio. The Mechanical Engineer will support thermal system design, balance of plant engineering, and project execution for large scale power generation facilities supplying dedicated power to data center clients.
What You Will Be DoingPerform thermodynamic modeling, heat balance analysis, and cycle performance evaluations for behind-the-meter and combined cycle power systemsDevelop mechanical design packages for HRSG components, rotating equipment, piping systems, heat exchangers, and balance of plant systems surrounding the turbine islandSupport engineering reviews, design coordination, and occasional site visits for equipment assessments, construction walkdowns, and technical validationPrepare engineering documentation including P and IDs, equipment datasheets, mechanical specifications, and system integration deliverables for large scale power projectsCollaborate with electrical, controls, and project engineering teams to ensure system compatibility, constructability, and performance across all phases of design and executionWhat You Need for This PositionBachelors in Mechanical Engineering w/ 5+ years of experience in thermal power, combined cycle, or utility scale plant designStrong understanding of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, heat transfer, and thermodynamic cycle modeling for power generation applicationsExperience with ASME codes, piping design, rotating equipment, and high energy mechanical systems within balance of plant environmentsAbility to interpret engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and plant system documentation for large scale power projectsPreferred experience with consulting engineering, EPC environments, or field engineering supporting power generation facilitiesP.E. license strongly preferred, with reciprocity accepted across multiple statesWhat's In It for YouFull Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD/STD, 401k w/ matching) and more!
