Transmission Line Engineer Job Description Join a team dedicated to connecting passion with purpose by supporting critical engineering and scientific initiatives. As a Transmission Line Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic transmission department, working alongside senior engineers to complete projects that serve utility customers. Collaborate with both in-house and client engineers and designers to advance your career in transmission line engineering. Responsibilities Responsible for the engineering and design activities related to transmission line design, including engineering analysis and design, route selection, material acquisition, structural and foundation design, and project and construction management under the guidance of senior engineers. Prepare project construction documents such as plan and profile drawings, design drawings, engineering, material, and construction specifications, project schedules, and bills of material. Develop project design alternatives and corresponding cost estimates with the assistance of higher-level engineers. Design new transmission facilities with voltages ranging from 69kV to 765kV. Utilize
PLS-CADD
software to model transmission line design projects. Work under the supervision of Transmission II, III, IV, and senior Engineers. Occasionally conduct site visits to support project development and execution. Essential Skills Experience in Transmission Line Design and Engineering. Proficiency in
PLS-CADD
software. Ability to work on high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) transmission line design projects. Familiarity with project scoping, estimating, and material ordering. Additional Skills & Qualifications Zero to two years of experience in utilities and completing engineering projects from start to finish. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering. An EIT License is desirable but not required. Work Environment The work environment is a quiet engineering office with a business casual dress code. Teamwork is highly encouraged and frequently practiced, promoting a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New Albany, OH.
