Job Description

Our client is a mid-size engineering firm specializing in delivering renewable energy solutions across the country accelerating the future of clean energy with our design & engineering services related to utility-scale solar, battery energy storage and wind projects. Join our already existing power systems engineering team•we have an exciting opening for an experienced Substation Engineer that is eager to pivot their skills to a broader design engineering role where they will support QA/QC for other engineer's projects, provide engineering markups of schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams and other drawings for the drafting team to execute. This is a great opportunity for any engineers that feel siloed in one area of a project that may want to branch out into other areas such as substation design/engineering, power system studies, relay settings/automation, SCADA, interconnection projects and other broader realms. •Opportunity to sit 100% remote if preferred (no signs of RTO) if not located near our available office. Current team made up of local and remote employees across the country. Your background & quaifications: 3-6+ years of experience with designing/supporting engineering projects. Previous renewables experience not required, but a plus. 1-2 years of previous engineering consultancy or EPC experience preferred. Specialty in at least two of the following areas: substation physical design, protection & control design, relay settings, power system studies, medium voltage collection systems or high voltage systems, transmission exposure, SCADA/automation. Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field. PE License not required but a plus (and can factor into compensation). •Must be based in North America for consideration, US.
