Directly contribute to system reliability and the communities served by the utility What You'll Be Doing Design protection and control systems for substations, transmission lines, and generation facilities Develop and maintain relay schemes, metering systems, and SCADA designs Specify substation equipment based on system needs and operating conditions Analyze system performance and data to support planning and ongoing improvements Build project scopes, timelines, and cost estimates for capital work Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting Review and approve drawings, schematics, and technical documentation Support and mentor designers/technicians while ensuring quality and compliance What They're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) Experience working in a utility or closely related environment (substation, transmission, or generation) Strong understanding of protection schemes, relays, and control systems Hands-on experience with substation P&C design and relay logic Ability to read and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard engineering tools/software Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Overland Park, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.33 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
