: 6 month contract Role Overview The Systems Test Engineer supports validation and quality assurance for robotics and automation hardware deployed at scale across their fulfillment centers . This is a hands-on, field-heavy role focused on executing test plans, validating electromechanical systems, and ensuring hardware meets defined quality, safety, and performance standards prior to and after deployment. This role is ideal for an early‑career engineer with strong testing fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in dynamic, real‑world environments. Test Planning & Execution Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and predefined test cases for electromechanical and robotic systems. Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) in lab and field environments. Hardware Testing & Validation Conduct hands-on testing of robotic and automation hardware, validating functionality, performance, and quality. Verify system behavior using requirement verification, state transition testing, and KPI‑driven validation methods. Defect Identification & Root Cause Support Identify, document, and track defects and anomalies discovered during testing. Troubleshoot issues and provide detailed test data to support root cause analysis and defect resolution. Data Analysis & Documentation Analyze test data and generate clear technical documentation, including test reports and defect summaries. Communicate test results, risks, and recommendations to engineering and operations stakeholders. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with engineering and site operations teams to plan testing and resolve issues. Support continuous improvement through test process enhancements and simple test tools or scripts. Field Support & Travel Travel approximately 75% to support on-site testing and validation at fulfillment centers. Adapt to changing environments and coordinate testing to minimize operational impact.MUST HAVES
Electromechanical Hardware Testing - hands-on experience testing electrical and mechanical systems. Defect Identification & Documentation - clear, precise defect reporting and support for root cause analysis. 2-3 years of professional QA, test engineering, or hardware testing experience. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering , or equivalent experience. Experience developing and executing test plans, including requirement verification, state transition testing, and KPI‑driven validation. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams . Basic scripting knowledge (Python, MATLAB, or similar) Exposure to PLC-based systems (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Mitsubishi preferred). Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers , and diagnostic tools. Strong technical communication (written and verbal). Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently with guidance. Adaptability in fast-paced, field-based environments. Effective collaboration with sr engineers and cross-functional teams.NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
Experience testing robotics, automation equipment, packaging, sortation, industrial machinery , or similar systems preferred. FAT/SAT experience Experience working in a manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse environment Knowledge of safety standards and compliance testing (OSHA, ANSI) Previous experience with JIRA or AWS Field service experience across multiple sites Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Westborough, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $54.50 - $56.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
