What You'll Be Doing As an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer , you'll work across the full project lifecycle, from early planning through final design: Perform overhead transmission line and structural design (no underground or gas work) Execute engineering analysis using PLS‑CADD / PLS‑Suite Support routing, surveying, planning, permitting, and comprehensive line design Apply advanced engineering judgment to develop, analyze, and optimize designs Identify and resolve complex technical and design challenges Prepare and self‑check calculations, reports, and design deliverables Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams Mentor junior engineers and provide technical review and QA/QC support Assist with proposal development and client or regulatory presentations as needed What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Candidates with varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering 2+ years of professional engineering experience Experience with overhead transmission line engineering or structural analysis related to transmission systems Proficiency in PLS‑CADD / PLS‑Suite Strong written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of QA/QC procedures Ability to work independently in a remote, team‑based environment Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of overhead transmission line design experience Professional Engineer ( PE ) license preferred for higher level positions (EIT or actively pursuing PE also strongly considered) Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bluebeam, LPile, FAD , or similar tools Utility or consulting engineering experience Involvement in professional engineering organizations Interest in mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers What Makes a Great Fit Naturally curious engineers who ask thoughtful questions Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail Comfort working on complex, large‑scale infrastructure projects Team players who enjoy sharing knowledge and collaborating remotely Work Environment Fully remote on a day‑to‑day basis Occasional travel to job sites or meetings may be requested but is not routine Candidates may be located anywhere in the United States Ready to Build What Powers Communities?
