In this pivotal role, you will lead the planning, design, and execution of electrical utility projects that enhance the reliability and efficiency of power transmission and distribution systems. Your expertise will drive project success from conception through construction, ensuring adherence to technical standards, safety protocols, and project schedules. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure improvements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that power communities and industries. Responsibilities Develop and manage utility project work orders and job packages. Support transmission and distribution capital project planning activities. Prepare engineering evaluations, alternatives analyses, and project recommendations. Develop project scopes, schedules, and preliminary cost estimates. Prepare business cases and project justification documentation for capital funding approval. Analyze system reliability, safety, capacity, operational, and regulatory drivers. Support emergency response and emergency restoration project documentation. Coordinate with utility operations, maintenance, planning, and project management teams. Track project status, budgets, and key milestones. Support regulatory and compliance-driven infrastructure programs. Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and stakeholder presentations. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project approval packages. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline. 3+ years of utility engineering, planning, project engineering, or capital project experience. Experience supporting electric transmission or distribution systems. Knowledge of utility work management and project lifecycle processes. Experience developing project scopes, estimates, and engineering documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and directly with utility clients. Preferred Qualifications Experience with utility capital planning programs. Experience supporting emergency response or storm restoration efforts. Familiarity with utility work management systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms. Experience preparing business cases, economic evaluations, or funding justifications. Knowledge of California utility operations and regulatory environments. Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred.
Pay:
$120.00 - $150.00 per hour
