This role will help support and evaluate a large glycol/process cooling system upgrade involving pumps, valves, plate heat exchangers, piping systems, flow validation, contamination prevention, and mechanical utility improvements. The role will work closely with plant maintenance, contractors, controls resources, and project teams to identify system deficiencies, evaluate proposed solutions, and help drive execution of improvements already in progress. This is a hands-on engineering role focused heavily on real-world system functionality, troubleshooting, and project coordination - not just design work.What You'll Be Doing:
Walk down and evaluate existing utility/process systems Review P&IDs, drawings, and contractor scope changes Support troubleshooting of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and flow issues Help evaluate contamination prevention and system protection strategies Work alongside maintenance and automation teams during implementation Coordinate with contractors and vendors to close design/installation gaps Support startup, commissioning, and system optimization activitiesIdeal Background:
5+ years in utilities, process systems, mechanical/process engineering, or industrial projects Experience with closed-loop fluid systems, chilled water, glycol, boilers, steam, or process utilities Strong understanding of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, flow, and piping systems Ability to work independently inside an operating manufacturing environment Comfortable troubleshooting and driving field executionPreferred Industries:
Food & Beverage, Chemical, Industrial Manufacturing, Utilities, Pharma, Pulp & Paper, or related process environments.Similar jobs in Germantown, TN
